Field: History

Brief: Design a series of illustrations to depict the four elements of matter: earth, water, air and fire

Solution: According to texts, this theory was a belief of the Ancient Greeks and was suggested around 450 BC (yes, that long ago). Since Earth is regularly referred to as Mother Earth, I saw no need to create a separate image for it so it is embedded in each of the three images below with the first representing fire, the second, water and the third, air.
